The Extraordinary General Council is constituted by the meeting of the General Council and the provincial and regional superiors. Usually acting as an advisory body, its mission is to promote active solidarity between the general leadership and the provinces, while working to strengthen the unity of the congregation.
Its role is to enlighten the General Council by providing its opinion on matters of major importance or exceptional situations submitted to it.
The supreme authority of the congregation, the General Chapter meets in ordinary session every six years. It brings together the members of the General Council, the Provincial Superiors, the Superior of the Delegation of France, as well as the members designated by the General Regulations.
The General Chapter is the primary guarantor of the congregation's fidelity to the founder's intentions and the Constitution. Tasked with promoting the institute's vitality, it analyzes and evaluates its overall situation, defines strategic directions, and sets common objectives. This body is also responsible for electing the Superior General.
