Formation

Admission Requirements

To become an Associate of the Congregation and a member of the Viatorian Community, a candidate must meet the following criteria:

  • To be of legal age.
  • Demonstrate social, emotional, and psychological stability.
  • Demonstrate an ability to make decisions and follow through with them.
  • Living in accordance with evangelical values.
  • To actively invest in the Viatorian mission.
  • Participate in the life and spirituality of the institute.

The vocation of an associate is a divine gift inviting one to share the Viatorian charism. The formation process relies on human collaboration: it requires the candidate's commitment, the guidance of designated religious or associates, and the support of the entire community.

Engagement Process

Although the guidelines vary by province, delegation, or foundation, the typical process is as follows:

Home

The person is first welcomed into a local community.

Initial Assessment and Engagement

After a probationary period, the person makes a solemn commitment for a fixed term.

Renewal

This commitment can be renewed.

Definitive Commitment

At the end of the discernment process, the associate can commit permanently to the Viatorian Community.
