Superior General

He was born in Haiti on October 21, 1967. Father Nestor Fils-Aimé is a product of the Clerics of St. Viator, as he completed his secondary education at the highly reputable Collège Immaculée-Conception in Gonaïves, Haiti. He took his first vows on September 11, 1988, along with Kénel Verna. They are the first two Clerics of St. Viator to make religious profession in Haiti.

Father Fils-Aimé will pronounce his perpetual vows on September 19, 1994, and will receive priestly anointing on October 15, 1995, at the Cathedral of Gonaïves.

His journey within the Congregation is divided between Haiti and Canada. In Haiti, after his religious, philosophical, and theological training, he served as a principal at the Immaculée-Conception college in Gonaïves from 1994 to 1998, and then from 2000 to 2002.

In Canada, he pursued specialized studies in education, earning a doctorate in psychopedagogy in 2011. He worked at Collège Bourget in Rigaud (Quebec) for eleven years (2003-2014) as a pastoral animator and head of international cooperation, while also working for several years (2009-2015) as a lecturer at the Faculty of Education at the University of Montreal.

Elected provincial superior of the Canada province on April 12, 2014, he served on the provincial council for nearly ten years until January 6, 2024. On July 19, 2024, during the 31st General Chapter of the Congregation held in Ariccia, Italy, he was elected Superior General. He made his profession of faith on September 1, 2024, in Vourles, France, becoming the 17th Superior General of the Clerics of St. Viator.
